Mary Miller

Mary Miller became the Assistant Pastor at Berea UMC in June of 2019. Before her appointment as Assistant Pastor, she had been the Berea UMC Director of Music Ministries. 

Much of her time and energy is still focused on music ministry as she serves as Choir Director for the BUMC Singers (choir for high school age and up), the BUMC Ringers (handbell choir) and the Praise Team (our contemporary worship team). In addition, Mary leads efforts of communication and connectedness within our church family, coordinating our highly active email prayer chain, and supporting our ever-expanding use of technology in ministry. 

Mary and her family moved to Berea in 1993 and she has been serving at Berea United Methodist ever since. Mary graduated in 1984 from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, with a bachelor’s degree in music education. She served in music ministries in three other churches and two other states before moving to Berea. Her heart’s desire is to create opportunities for God’s children to linger in His presence and in doing so, to experience the transforming power of God’s grace and mercy. 

Mary and her husband, Chris, have two children, Ben, and Becca, as well as a son-in-law Andrew and daughter-in-law Cayla.
