June 17, 2007 - "Keep God First"
(podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20:2
1. The Ten Commandments are not optional. God says, “You
do these things and things will go fine in your life.”
2. PUT GOD FIRST! F.I.R.S.T. Finances – Interests
– Relationships – Scheduling – Troubles
3. Matthew 6: 33 “Seek first the Kingdom of God (put
him first in every area of my life) and all these other
things shall be added unto you.” It’s the antidote
to worry.
June 24, 2007 - "Accept no Substitutes"
(podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 4-5
1. DON”T IDOLIZE ANYTHING. An idol is anything that
takes the focus off God; even if it is good. In our time,
graven images are rare, but mental and status idols are
in abundance.
2. WORSHIP ONLY GOD. Idols will always disappoi9nt, control
your decisions, and will shape you into a person displeasing
to God.
3. Put God F.I.R.S.T. (Finances – Interests –
Relationships – Scheduling – Troubles) When
God comes first in our lives we discover fulfillment and
freedom. Remember .. we become like what we love.
July 1, 2007 - "Take God Seriously"
(podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 7
1. Why is God so sensitive about His Name? God knows that
a name represents three things: REPUTATION – CHARACTER
– AUTHORITY.
2. These are all the different ways we can take God’s
name in vain … to insult, to indulge, to intimidate,
to impress, and impulsively.
3. How can I use God’s name correctly? Always give
reverence to God’s name. Represent God’s name
clearly. Rely on God’s name completely.
July 8, 2007 - "Stay Balanced"
(podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 8-9
1. The Sabbath was made for our own good! God says, pick
one day each week to use for rest, recreation, restoration,
and worship.
2. Keep the Sabbath day holy by resting your body, recharging
your emotions, and including time for fellowship.
3. Use the Sabbathy to refocus … tune in to God. This
is the most important – WORSHIP.
July
15, 2007 - "Honor Your Parents"
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 12
1. Why did God give this commandment when there are no perfect
parents? God knows that respect for authority begins at
home. How we relate to our parents will affect every other
relationship.
2. We honor our parents by being obedient, accepting and
affirming them. A word to parents: If you want to be honored,
you must be honorable.
3. The church is family and in terms of eternity, it’s
far more important. As a child of God, you have a Heavenly
Father who loves you unconditionally and who created you
for a purpose.
July 22, 2007 - Jennifer Escobar:
"The Forgiven Woman" (podcast coming
soon)
July
29, 2007 - Lee Hubbard: "Trust
and Obey"
Scripture emphasis: John 9:1-12, 35-38 et al
August
5, 2007 - "Let There be Life"
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 13
1. WHAT DOES THIS COMMAND NOT MEAN? It does not prohibit
killing animals, nor does it prohibit capital punishment
or going to war.
2. HOW DOES THIS COMMAND APPLY TO OUR FAMILIES? To God,
every life has value. God says NO to suicide. God says NO
to mercy killing. God says NO to abortion.
3. WE’VE ALL MADE MISTAKES, EVERY ONE OF US. If you
will give Him the broken pieces of your life, God will take
those pieces, put them together and bring inner peace into
your life. He is a great God. All the time.
August
12, 2007 - "Affair-Proof Your
Marriage"
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 14
1. Make a commitment to God’s standards. Remember
the consequences, maintain your marriage, and manage your
mind.
2. People don’t just fall into immorality. There’s
a process; a series of events. So … reject sinful
thoughts, avoid emotional involvement, and don’t attempt
to falsely justify sinful behavior.
3. If you have sinned, there are three steps back to the
pathway of righteousness (purity): Confess the sin –
Repent – Make a commitment to God’s standards.

August 19, 2007 - "Prosper With
Integrity" (podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 15
1. There are over 100 synonyms for the word “steal”.
Whether it is called deception, theft, or tax evasion, God
says don’t do it.
2. Christians should be always honest because we are being
watched by God and other people. Remember we shall “reap
what we sow.” Honesty leads to a full, happy life.
(Proverbs 28: 20)
3. A Christian should always return unjust income, give
God a full tithe, and make an honest living.
August 26, 2007 - "Tell the Truth"
(no recording available - technical trouble switching
to digital recording in the services)
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 16
1. LYING is a symptom of deeper problems. The cruel lie
is motivated by resentment. The cowardly lie is told to
escape consequences. A conceited lie is an attempt to impress.
Manipulation or selfishness can create a calculated lie.
The convenient lie is an expression of laziness.
2. God says, “TELL THE TRUTH” completely, consistently,
lovingly, and always tactfully.
3. God wants each of us to be people of integrity. As we
give control of our heart to Christ, we become a new creation
with a new heart.
September
2, 2007 - "Learn to Be Content"
Scripture emphasis: Exodus 20: 17
1. To covet: The uncontrolled desire to acquire. The long-term
effects of “coveting” canm be fatigue, debt,
worry, conflict, and life dissatisfaction.
2. The antidote: Contentment. It is a learned behavior.
Don’t ompare yourself to others. Be thankful for what
you have. Use what you have to help others. Place your focus
on “the eternal.”
3. Ask yourself, “What am I living for? How do I ‘keep
score’ in my journey through life?” Happiness
comes not from your possessions, but from knowing your purpose
in life.
September 9, 2007 - "Do What
God Says" (podcast coming soon)
Scripture emphasis: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-13; 12: 6-14
1. AND THAT’S IT!
2. DO WHAT GOD SAYS.
3. GOD SAYS, “MAKE DISCIPLES.”
September 23, 2007 - "Increasing
Our Standard of Giving" (podcast coming soon)
Scripture Emphasis: Luke 16: 10-13
1. Jesus is teaching his disciples to have the same persistence
and sense of purpose for doing good that scoundrels have
for doing evil.
2. Trustworthiness is measured by character. Faithful in
little. Faithful in much. That is the principle which serves
as an “acid test” for character. Use wealth
responsibly.
3. Don’t make the mistake of putting trust in earthly
wealth. Only God is eternal. And in God should our devotion
lie.
September 30, 2007 - "Determined
Discipleship" (podcast coming
soon)
Scripture Emphasis: 1 Timothy 6: 6-19
1. Take responsibility for your life. Take hold of the opportunities
that life presents.
2. Understand the importance of righteous living. Do not
neglect your “spiritual self”.
3. Wherever we go, we are a representative of Jesus Christ.
We are known by the “goodness” in our life.
